Attorney to investigate relationship between Lynnwood PD, red light camera company | Politics
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The City of Lynnwood has hired an outside investigator to look into the relationship between the Lynnwood Police Department and the company that runs the city's red light cameras.
Lynnwood Police Chief Steve Jensen recently admitted that his department depends on traffic ticket camera revenue and probably would lose seven or eight officers without it. The Daily Herald of Everett obtained e-mails through a public records request that showed a deputy chief had inquired about a job with the Arizona company that operates the cameras - and a sergeant had offered to help market the cameras in the Northwest.
Mayor Don Gough told KOMO Newsradio reporter Ian Sterling today that attorney Patricia Eakes will head up the investigation. She most recently conducted an investigation into the scandal involving $1.8 million in questionable spending by the Seattle School District.
